Woodson County Traffic Court Records
Traffic cases sit in two different places. A ticket payable to Woodson County District Court belongs to the 31st Judicial District. Lisa Page serves as district clerk there and keeps the case record. You can search that docket through Kansas Case Search. You can also pay through the official route, or simply call the clerk. A city citation is different. The municipal court named on the ticket holds it. That city clerk keeps a separate file.
Yates Center Municipal Court handles ordinance, traffic, misdemeanor, and code cases. Kristen Cagle serves as municipal clerk. Toronto and Neosho Falls post no online municipal docket or payment page. If your citation came from either city, contact that city directly. A stop inside Woodson County does not put a city case in the district clerk's hands.
| Citation names | Custodian | Starting route |
|---|---|---|
| Woodson County District Court | District clerk | Kansas Case Search or clerk |
| Yates Center Municipal Court | Municipal clerk | City court instructions |
| Another city court | Named city custodian | Verify with that city |
Five Days for Woodson Citations
The Woodson Sheriff FAQ says citation information can take up to five days to appear online. That lag explains why a brand-new ticket may return no result in a docket search. It does not push back the appearance date. Any deadline printed on the citation still stands.
Double-check what you typed, give the system the full posting window, then call the court that holds the case. District matters can be confirmed at 620-625-8610. The Central Payment Center answers system questions at 785-260-6105. City citation? Call that city instead.
No result yet: Keep the citation, note its response date, and verify with the named court. Never wait past a printed deadline.
Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
The court on the ticket matters more than where the stop happened. For district citations, the Sheriff pay-fees page routes payable Woodson tickets to the Central Payment Center. Kansas Case Search shows the wider district case record. One caution applies. A payment result is not a certified court record. It leaves out most of the docket.
- Read the issuing court, citation number, appearance terms, and deadline.
- For Woodson County District Court, try Kansas Case Search for case information.
- Use the Central Payment Center search only for payment functions.
- If the paper names Yates Center Municipal Court, follow city instructions. For another city, call that city.
- If online lookup fails, call or visit the proper clerk. The district counter is at 105 W. Rutledge Street.
The payment portal accepts several search combinations. You can look up by citation or case number with birth date, driver license and state, SSN and birth date, plate and state, name with birth date, or a business name. Pick the least sensitive option that gets the job done.
The Central Payment Center Route
The Kansas Courts Central Payment Center processes payments but is not the court file. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, debit cards, and eCheck are accepted. Cards carry a 5 percent convenience fee with a $1 minimum; an eCheck costs a flat $1 fee.
Mailing a district payment? Include party name, case number, and county, and send it to Central Payment Center, P.O. Box 750200, Topeka, KS 66675-0200. Confirm first that payment is allowed. If the case requires an appearance, paying online does not satisfy it. The official payment page lists these terms.

Payment lookup and a judicial case record answer different questions, and this page makes the split plain. The search screen shows how its lookup route works.

Those fields find payable accounts. They do not certify a plea, a result, or driver status.
How to Find Your Traffic Court Date
Begin with the date and court printed on the citation. For a district case, check it against the official Woodson calendar links. Then call the clerk if anything differs. The weekly calendar is a planning tool, not proof that a hearing date has held. A reset moves a setting; a continuance is a court-approved delay.
Yates Center posts 2026 municipal dates. The city holds court on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall. Still let the citation and current city instruction govern. Toronto and Neosho Falls publish no municipal schedule, so call those cities directly.
| Citation number | Copy the exact number. WO-2026-000123 is only an illustration. |
|---|---|
| Court | District court or the named city court. |
| Date and time | The appearance or hearing setting. |
| Location | The address on the citation or confirmed by the clerk. |
| Status | Pending, disposed, paid, or another official state. |
If a remote hearing is assigned, follow the district video instructions closely. Remote access existing does not mean your hearing will be held by web.
Kansas Traffic Citation Fields
K.S.A. 8-2110 covers failure to comply and notice. The statute shows that consequences follow legal process, not guesses drawn from a search result.

In any specific case, the citation and any court order control what you must do. K.S.A. 8-2106 lists what a citation contains: identity details, vehicle data, the alleged offense, appearance information, the officer's signature, and a notice about how to respond.

Those fields keep the paper citation essential when an online account has not posted.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Paying and contesting are separate choices. Kansas law lets some eligible infractions be resolved by waiver, plea, and payment. The citation decides who qualifies, though. A required appearance can never be replaced by an online transaction. To contest a district citation, the Sheriff directs you to call 620-625-8610.
| Paying | Contesting |
|---|---|
| Confirm payment without appearance is allowed. | Contact the court before the deadline. |
| Use that court's online, mail, phone, or counter method. | Follow its plea and hearing process. |
| Keep proof and verify posting. | Keep all notices and confirm the setting. |
Missed date or payment: Contact the named court at once. K.S.A. 8-2110 provides notice and possible license consequences, but no online lookup alone proves suspension.
Yates Center Keeps City Cases
Yates Center is the confirmed municipal route. The city lists Municipal Court at 117 E. Rutledge, Yates Center, KS 66783, phone 620-625-2118. Tickets that do not require an appearance may be paid by phone, mail, or in person under city instructions. The citation's fine and appearance terms stay in charge.
K.S.A. 12-4214 governs municipal notice, trial rights, pre-appearance payment, and the legal consequences that follow.

The split is simple: city citations stay with the municipal court's records, not the district clerk.
Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
Two different offices keep two different files here. The traffic court record lives with the court. It traces one citation from filing through plea, settings, payment, and disposition. Driver history, though, belongs to the Kansas Division of Vehicles. That agency guards it under its own privacy rules. So a court docket lookup will never double as a driver-history search.
| Court record | Driving record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept by | District or municipal clerk | Kansas Division of Vehicles |
| Shows | Citation, events, plea, disposition, balance | Authorized driver-history data |
| Access | Portal, clerk, terminal, or copy request | State record request |
Never infer driver status from a missing court result. Ask the correct custodian.
Copies and Fees
Check the local schedule before you budget. It lists a traffic docket fee of $108, plus $81 for driver-license reinstatement. Treat those as court fee rows only. They may not cover the full fine. The Division of Vehicles bills separately. The payment portal tacks on transaction fees. Paper or certified court records carry copy charges.
| Item | Amount | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Traffic docket fee | $108 | Local court fee row |
| Driver-license reinstatement | $81 | Local court fee row |
| Paper copy | $0.50 per page | Plain court copy |
| Certification | $1 per document | Certified court copy |
| Card convenience fee | 5%, $1 minimum | Payment transaction |
| eCheck convenience fee | $1 | Payment transaction |
Call the issuing court to confirm the current total; a payment balance is not the full case file.
When Woodson Ticket Details Conflict
Woodson ticket details can disagree. The citation, the payment account, the weekly calendar, and Kansas Case Search all refresh on their own schedules. A conflict never licenses you to pick the easiest date or amount. Save every notice. Then call the issuing court and have the clerk confirm the case number, the next setting, the response deadline, payment eligibility, and the balance. District questions go to Woodson County District Court. Yates Center city matters belong with its municipal clerk. For Toronto or Neosho Falls, use the court information printed on the citation, since those cities offer no online traffic portal. A direct check keeps your payment from landing with the wrong office. A calendar is for planning and can still change. The payment center takes eligible payments but certifies nothing about the whole case. Kansas Case Search lists public events yet is not a Kansas driver record. Each channel answers a different question.
Requesting Woodson Traffic Copies
For a district copy, give the clerk the citation or case number, the party name, and the exact item you need. Say whether a plain copy works or certification is required. An events list, a citation, an order, a receipt, and a disposition are all different records. Naming yours keeps the request tight. Yates Center municipal records go through the municipal clerk. Do not route them to the district clerk. Yates Center is only the county seat. The city clerk does not hold a state citation either. For any other city, verify the custodian before sending data or money. Copies document the court file. They cannot replace a current call about an approaching setting. Short on time? Verify the deadline first, then arrange the copy.
